We used to walk more together. Both literally and metaphorically.

In the early days, we strolled through parks, and through malls. Later when we got too busy it was grocery aisles. Now we hardly go anywhere alone, so everything is rush and hurry. No time for the leisurely wandering that was so important in those early days.

I miss the long talks at any hour, the silliness and the wonder. We still have our moments now, but most conversations are more like a sprint as we try to desperately communicate the necessary before we are interrupted by our little crazy ones.

I miss the rambles through city streets, tree lined parks, and even grocery stores.

Doing life side by side isn’t the same as together. I miss our walks.
