About
Welcome to Bethanyvitaro.com!
After seven years (I still can’t believe it’s been that long) of blogging at The Laundry Blog, I decided it was time for a transition. Like the tagline says I’ll be posting my honest thoughts on writing, family, faith and a few other miscellaneous topics. (Fitness is a big one but didn’t sound quite so pithy in a caption). Blogging looks quite different than it did when I first started seven years ago. Social media platforms have exploded. Much of what we do as bloggers has become less about the words we write and more about SEO (Search Engine Optimization, for the uninitiated) and social media sharing.
I’ve changed too. We’ve added two more children to our little family and have decided to call it done. I published a book. (My husband did too!) We were finally able to move to a new house to accommodate our growing family. Our children are wonderfully unique (as all children are), each with their own sets of challenges that regularly throw us for a loop. My faith has been stretched and strengthened as well. This is a place where I can talk over all of those things and write down the words that, hopefully, someone else needs to hear.
Yay! I’m glad I found your blog. Some of my friends are looking into cloth diapering, so if you don’t mind, I am going to recommend your blog so they can read some reviews.
Part of why I posted that rather long 5 part series was because when I first started researching cloth diapering I felt overwhelmed by the options. So I welcome all questions on the subject. If I don’t have the answer, I can probably point to someone who does.
Found you via the Cloth Diaper Whisperer. Lovely blog!
Hey! I am very happy to have found your website! We have a lot of the same values/interests. Its so nice to find a website from a loving, christian mother. I look forward to reading more on here when i have the time. I saw that you took a trip to lancaster, so you must be from PA, as am I. Love to hit up Shady Maple!
I’m glad you enjoy my books, and thank you for mentioning them. As to having so little time to write; your priorities are in the right place. Later, when your children are not so “labor-intensive”, you’ll write more, and find that this excellent blog has kept your skills alive. May God bless you and your sweet family, Lilypie.
Bethany, I just read your The MOPs Blog post about “When My Parenting Wasn’t Enough”. We are in the exact same spot as you described in your writing. Our six-year-old daughter has similar behaviors to your son, We are working on a solution with professionals, and no one seems to have an answer for us. However, your writing helped me feel not alone — and there are days when that’s all I feel. Thank you for sharing the truth; that, to me, some days is hard. Be well and God bless. KM
You are definitely not alone! I don’t claim to know why God works as he does, but he has given some of us extra special kids that stretch us in ways we’d rather not be stretched. I hope you find someone who can help you and I’m so very glad that my words made you feel less alone. I know what it’s like to feel like the mom of “that kid.” But I also know you love your daughter and want the very best for her. I’ll be praying you find some answers and, above all, some peace.
I wanted to comment on your FMF:Unexpected post and to congratulate you for finishing writing your book! A very big WELL DONE to you, Bethany. I do understand that feeling of the void – the self-doubts and the what now?
Trust God with the answer. Don’t be afraid of success, or more edits, or anything. Just do the next thing, but meanwhile spend extra time with those people or hobbies that have been neglected during the writing.
Thank you so much for the encouragement!
