I realize that I have more in material possessions than most of the rest of the world. This is not a boast, simply a fact. Some of it comes from hard work. Some of it from luck. I give all credit to God in either case.

I was raised to believe in giving; of my time, my money and my resources. Not indiscriminately, but carefully and thoughtfully. Yet as an adult, I find that generosity can feel disheartening.

What I have to offer seems so minor in comparison to the vastness of the suffering in the world. Click To Tweet

It is easy to forget that all of our small gifts combined can make a big impact. This is why I’ve become so passionate of ethical and fair trade purchasing. Just making one small change in how you spend money can make a big difference.

Because when I tell three friends about how easy it easy to switch to fair trade coffee, and they each tell three friends and so on. Suddenly the fair trade coffee business is booming and coffee shops and grocery stores are stocking it because people are requesting it and thousands of families are able to stay together, feeding and education their children and providing hope for a better future.

Don’t underestimate the power of your generosity. You don’t know how God might use it to do big things. Click To Tweet
