Isaiah 61:10
“I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.” (New International Version)
Inspiration I’ve Imbibed
What is it that makes you feel confident? That thing that makes you feel ready for the day. Do it, buy it, wear it. Maybe it’s a pair of super cute shoes or a chic scarf. Commit to immediate change. The slow change is getting used to feeling good about yourself everyday. But you can chose to be the person you want to be; that person you are inside who is just dying to get out. You just need to find your release valve.
Challenges I’ve Pursued
If you don’t own anything you love find something and wear it daily. I haven’t quite accomplished this. I have added some stylish scarves to my wardrobe, and I find that it makes the most ordinary outfit feel put together. So I try to wear one almost everyday. The other item is usually earrings and a necklace but my son tends to pull at these so I tend not to wear them unless I’m going out. So I’ve settled on shoes. Even if at some point I end up in slippers or flip flops if I’m running to the basement, I make a point of picking out and starting the day out in shoes. Shoes I like that make me feel good and look nice with my outfit. This doesn’t always produce the immediate change I’m looking for, but it does help me get in the a good mindset to start my day.
What are your “earrings”? What action or item helps you feel ready for the day?
