I would love to say that the last two weeks felt great and was really easy. It did feel great but there were also days when it was very difficult to fit my exercise in. The days I got up at 6 AM, I had no trouble fitting in exercise. But there were days when I couldn’t drag myself from bed and it would have been easier to just forget it. But instead I squeezed it in while my kids were having breakfast, during afternoon quiet time or directly after dinner.  I wasn’t actually sure I was going to make it to the end of the week.

This was meant to be my routine:

Basic Step Aerobics I and 21 Tone Up

Weightlifting 101

Tabata Kick and Squat

Weightlifting 101

Kelly Dean’s Full Body Workout

Yoga Pilates Blend

Simply Stretching

What actually happened. The first week, I got up early at least two days last week, but the rest of the time I just got my workouts in bits and pieces. Friday I had to get up at 5:30 to get my daughter to a medical procedure so I wasn’t able to manage a workout. She was on strict orders to rest and watch TV for the rest of the day so I put off my workout until after dinner, but I did manage to fit it in. Saturday I was very tempted to just let it slide, but darn it, I wanted to accomplish 31 days of daily exercise. So while hubby was out getting me my free birthday sundae (yes, I do see the irony), I did Kelly’s Wall Workout and the Warrior Workout instead of the Yoga & Pilates Blend I had planned. Sunday morning the kids were usually rowdy and there wasn’t even time for my stretching workout, but I decided that instead of giving up, I would do Simply Stretching after the kids were in bed while hubby finished painting.

Week 2 looked a bit like this.

Basic Aerobics II and Ultimate Upper Body

Basic Step Aerobics I and Basic Aerobics IV

Basic Aerobics III and Insane Upper Body

Ankles & Upper Body, and Kickboxing

Body Sculpting II & Body Sculpting

Gentle Blend

Restorative Poses

Even though Restorative Poses is one of my favorites, I actually opted to do the Foam Roller workout instead so I could try out my new foam roller I got for my birthday. It was lots of fun and I look forward to reviewing the whole series of foam roller workouts in the near future.

The positives I’ve noticed from the last two weeks are that it feels normal to workout every day, so I hope this is the beginning of a new healthy habit. I’m also getting better at early rising. I still don’t love getting up at 6 AM, but I do enjoy the feeling of margin that comes from having gotten a few major items checked off my to-do list first thing.

Nearly halfway done, and 17 days to go!
