Wow, I don’t think a month ago any of us could have anticipated how we’d be living right now. (Ok, maybe the epidemiologists and conspiracy theorists among us, but probably not anyone else).

I’ve been more absent from the blogosphere in the last month than in a long time. In fact, my most recent post (until yesterday) was my late attempt at February’s Share Four Somethings Saturday!

But one thing is for sure, we probably all have a lot to share right now.

Something Loved

It’s been a rough month and I’m having some trouble thinking of things I’ve loved. I’ve have been appreciating my favorite fitness site in a whole new way. I’ve been a subscriber for years, but right now doing my daily Fit2B Studio workouts is a big part of what is keeping me sane. Sometimes it’s just a stretching routine or a short yoga workout. But the important thing is that in a couple clicks I’m ready to make it happen, any time of the day.

Something Read

I’ll admit, I’ve been reading as much as I would have liked. I just can’t seem to concentrate. But I have been continuing to work my way through The Complete Father Brown. Having already watched the TV show (and enjoyed it) I found the stories themselves to be much more understated. The vignettes reminded me of the writing style of James Runcie in his Sidney Chamber’s books. Obviously, Chesterton was there first, though his language feels much older and formal than Runcie’s. I’m on the final two stories so I should be finished soon, possibly even before the end of the month.

Something Treasured

The violets are blooming in our yard. We aren’t big on keeping pristine grass so we have all manner of wildflowers and other weedy growth. But this is the time of year when the violets take over the hill behind the house and I love it. It’s temporary, only lasting until my husband does the first mow of the year, which probably makes it all the more precious. I’m even more appreciative of the outdoor space we have, now that we are confined to home. I love that I can look out my back window and see the flowers and blooming trees, and that we have enough space between us and our neighbors that we can still use our yard and remain socially isolated.

Something Ahead

In some ways, I feel like I have so little to share that is ahead. Things even months from now have disappeared from my calendar and I can’t remember the last time I planned something.

Today I plan to try my hand at a low FODMAP chocolate lava cake for my husband. This weekend I hope to take the time to try and finish up a few nearly done knitting projects. Next week I plan to start seeds for my garden and finally make a new cushion for the chair in my boys’ room. In May we will find a way to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. That’s as much as I can think about for now, and for now, it’s enough.
